XPoint receives conditional license in Ohio
Operators are preparing for Ohio’s sports betting launch on January 1, 2023.
XPoint, a geolocation and compliance tech company, has received a conditional license to operate in Ohio from the state’s Casino Control Commission (OCCC). The company specializes in North American sports betting and iGaming markets.
It received an additional round of funding in September from new investors including The Raine Group Acies Investments and SuRo Capital Sports, as well as increased funding from existing investors, Bettor Capital and Courtside Ventures.
Legalized sports betting is set to kick off in the Buckeye State on January 1, 2023 and operators have been ramping up efforts to successfully launch there come the new year. Elys Game Technology and its partner, Wright Bet, have obtained over 100 host locations in the state of Ohio for the company’s retail sportsbook.
XPoint CEO Marvin Sanderson commented: “I would like to thank the members and executive staff of the Ohio Casino Control Commission for granting Xpoint our conditional license to operate in Ohio.

Sports betting companies are eyeing Ohio for good reason. Interest across the state in the newly regulated market will certainly be high.
A number of Ohio-based teams feature prominently in their respective leagues, including the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL, and the Columbus Blue Jackets and Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA.
