Caesars Entertainment opens sportsbook and poker room at Harrah’s New Orleans
Openings are part of casino’s $325m transformation into Caesars New Orleans.
Caesars Entertainment has announced the opening of a new sportsbook and World Series of Poker (WSOP) room at Harrah’s New Orleans. These openings are part of a $325m transition of Harrah’s New Orleans into Caesars New Orleans, which is scheduled to open in autumn.
The 5,700-square-foot sportsbook will be located next to the largest poker room in Louisiana, which boasts 20 poker tables and complimentary tableside beverages. The new venue will include four betting windows, 12 self-service betting kiosks and a contemporary video and audio system.
The company envisions that the Caesars New Orleans will provide sports fans with the opportunity to view major sporting events and bet on them in a luxurious environment. The 146-foot video screen can project multiple ongoing games, ensuring patrons never miss an important game. They will also be provided with a stream of up-to-date live odds.
Meanwhile, the new poker room will add several exciting variants of live poker for New Orleans natives and other visitors. The room is open seven days a week and will host exciting high-stakes competitions on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays.
Caesars Regional Manager Dan Real commented: “Caesars Sportsbook at Harrah’s New Orleans will be the foremost sports betting and viewing destination in the southern US. Harrah’s New Orleans General Manager Samir Mowad believes the poker room will add a new dimension of gambling excitement for players. He says, “The World Series of Poker brand represents the ultimate poker experience and it’s only fitting we open a poker room that matches its legacy.”
The arrival of Caesars New Orleans will build upon Caesars’ longstanding legacy of delivering unparalleled sports and entertainment experiences in Louisiana. It is also rebuilding its Lake Charles resort (soon to reopen as Horseshoe Lake Charles) and is constructing a new sportsbook at Horseshoe Bossier City.
