Light & Wonder rebranding officially complete
Company to be traded on Nasdaq under stock ticker symbol ‘LNW.’
It’s finally complete: Light & Wonder, Inc. has become the official moniker of the content-creating entity formerly known as Scientific Games Corporation.
As part of the official rebranding, as of April 29, 2022 the Las Vegas-based company will begin trading on the Nasdaq under the stock ticker symbol ‘LNW.’ Prior to this, the company traded under ticker symbol ‘SGMS.’
The move has come alongside a restructuring of sorts as, several weeks ago, the company’s lottery arm was sold off.
In a statement, the company succinctly summarized the reasoning behind the rebranding: “The Light & Wonder name and branding reflects the company’s strategic vision to become the leading cross-platform global game company focused on creating and launching great games fully cross-platform, leveraging our leading platforms and solutions to enable a seamless player experience.
“Through a deliberate cross-platform approach, Light & Wonder delivers a leading portfolio of iconic games and franchises across online and mobile and in both real money and free-to-play social gaming markets as well as in land-based casinos.”
Speaking earlier on the rebranding, group CEO Barry Cottle had the following to say: “We already have a world-class team powered by the brightest game creators in the business and in transforming into a growth company who invests in our people and products, we will serve our players wherever and whenever they play.”
