Oak View Group to develop $3bn casino and hotel in Las Vegas
The project will be led by former Las Vegas Raiders President Marc Badain.
A new casino is coming to Las Vegas following the purchase of 25 acres of land in the city by Oak View Group.
This area is set to be converted into a 20,000-seat area, casino and hotel, costing the company around $3bn to create.
The project, which is pencilled in to open in 2023, will add 850,000 square feet of arena and casino space to the city. Oak View has cited a focus on technology, sustainability and green initiatives as inspirations for this design.
To compliment the casino and arena, a hotel will be constructed featuring a number of restaurants, bars and convention spaces.
“South of the Las Vegas strip represents one of the few areas of potential future growth of the gaming and entertainment corridor,” said Tim Leiweke, CEO of Oak View Group.
“This unprecedented project is an industry game-changer, and we will usher in the evolution of Las Vegas as the new entertainment and sports capital of the world. As the largest arena developer in the world, we look forward to driving good paying job creation to Clark County as well as creating the most innovative and environmentally sustainable live entertainment point of destination in the world.”
The casino will be situated next to the planned Brightline high-speed rail station and will reportedly see 13 million vehicles pass by from California every year.
