FanDuel announces Play Well initiative in support of Problem Gambling Awareness Month
FanDuel’s Responsible Gaming Ambassador, Craig Carton, will release content relating to the project.
As the gaming industry comes together this March in recognition of Problem Gambling Awareness month, FanDuel is doing its part with the launch of the Play Well initiative.
With this new project, FanDuel will launch a new ad campaign and new themed content. Moreover, the sports betting giant will make a $100,000 donation to the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG).
Adam Warrington, Vice President of Responsible Gaming at FanDuel, said: “We’re fully committed at FanDuel to developing useful tools and programs that make a difference in responsible gaming.
“Our new ad campaign and Craig Carton’s content aim to bring an important spotlight to our player control tools that help customers keep sports betting fun and entertaining.”
The Play Well initiative is spearheaded by FanDuel’s Responsible Gaming Ambassador, Carton. The sports media personality and responsible gaming advocate will work to support FanDuel’s Play Well message, encouraging players to not chase bets via his show “Hello My Name Is Craig”.
On top of these efforts, Carton has filmed a series of new educational videos for both FanDuel customers and employees alike.
The operator’s ad campaign, which began airing this week, will focus on sticking to the fun side of sports betting and was produced in partnership with Boomshot.
FanDuel’s efforts to support the eradication of problem gaming have been recognized by the NCPG, with its Executive Director, Keith Whyte, stating: “The Play Well tools offer a common-sense, non-stigmatizing approach to responsible play and problem gambling prevention. This critical initiative not only offers vital consumer protections but actively encourages customers to use these tools regularly.
“We applaud FanDuel Group for taking meaningful steps, during Problem Gambling Awareness Month and all year long, to promote responsible gambling and address problem gambling nationwide.”
