theScore celebrates upcoming launch of Ontario iGaming with new billboard

The province’s iGaming market is set to launch on April 4, 2022.
Following the announcement that iGaming is, at last, coming to the Ontario region, theScore, a Canada-based media and betting company, has set up a celebratory billboard in Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square.
The billboard, which is located in theScore’s birthplace of Toronto, claims “Finally.” in reference to the upcoming, and much anticipated, launch of iGaming across the region.
This launch was first announced on Friday, January 28, and led to an outpouring of approval from operators, regulators and suppliers alike.
Indeed, following the announcement, theScore’s CEO, John Levy commented: “We commend the Ontario government for their tireless efforts throughout this process and are thrilled to now have a confirmed launch date.”
He continued: “The AGCO and iGaming Ontario have been thoughtful and collaborative in their approach to creating and managing this new industry, and the result is a soon-to-be-launched framework that will bring widespread benefits to Ontarians and establish Ontario as one of the biggest and most important regulated gaming markets in North America.
“We will be ready to launch theScore Bet in Ontario on April 4 and could not be more excited to finally offer our best-in-class mobile sports betting and iGaming experience to customers in our home province.”
theScore, which is owned by Penn National, originally began as a sports media company and has since, via theScore Bet, transitioned to iGaming and sports betting.
The road to launch has been a long one in Canada, with the approval of single event sports wagering providing significant fuel to the iGaming fire in recent months.
