Sportradar earns betting provider licenses in two new states
The sports data provider will launch its platform via its US subsidiary, Sportradar Solutions LLC in Maryland and Wisconsin.
Sportradar, an international sports betting technology and data company, has today announced that it has received gaming licenses in two new states. The company is set to launch in both Maryland and Wisconsin via a Sports Wagering Contractor License and a temporary Gaming-Related Contractor Certificate respectively.
Arne Rees, Sportradar US CEO said: “Sportradar is constantly looking for opportunities to expand offerings for its partners and customers and, from a betting standpoint, that starts with securing state licenses in key states like Maryland and Wisconsin, which have multiple professional sports teams, as well as very passionate fanbases.”
This news comes after both states passed legislation allowing sports betting at select land-based sportsbooks. Indeed, Wisconsin first launched its sports betting market on November 30 through a partnership with the Oneida Nation. Meanwhile, the Free State took its first wagers on December 9.
“These licenses further Sportradar’s leadership position in the US and allow us to grow these new markets with our best-in-class data, products, and services, all backed by the highest levels of integrity,” Rees continued.
These licenses mark only the beginning for Sportradar’s growth in both states, with the regions planning to launch online sports betting in the near future.
Following this announcement, Sportradar is licensed to operate in 26 states throughout the US.
Earlier this week, Sportradar partnered with the Brazilian Federal Police in an effort to deliver a new level of protection against match-fixing and corruption.
