Detroit casinos post $107.4m in combined October revenue

The Michigan Gaming Control Board has released its Detroit casino revenue results for the month of October. All three locations reported $107.4m in combined revenue last month.
Table games and slot revenue from the city’s three casinos brought in more than $105.9m in revenue in October, while retail sports betting from the city’s casinos reported $1.5m in revenue.
Last month’s report showed revenue from both slots and table games was up 2.2% year-over-year and up by 7.9% month-over-month.
MGM once again held the top spot for the month, accounting for 49% of October’s market share. MotorCity and Hollywood Casino at Greektown followed close behind, holding 29% and 22% of the month’s market share respectively.
Hollywood Casino at Greektown posted almost $22.7 m in revenue last month, an increase of 0.8% month-over-month.
MGM reported a 6.6% rise in October revenue when compared to September’s results. Total revenue climbed to $52.7m for the month.

MotorCity total October revenue reached nearly $30.5m but fell month-over-month by 3.8%.
Detroit’s casinos paid the state nearly $8.6m in gaming taxes last month and contributed an additional $13.1m in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the city.
When it came to retail sports betting last month, the city’s three casinos brought in a total handle of almost $13.5m, while gross receipts totaled $1.6m.
Last month’s qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) increased by $2.4m year-over-year.
MotorCity grabbed the top spot for sports betting activity for the month, reporting a QAGR of $786,929.
