Underdog places third in 2025 LinkedIn Top 50 US Startups List

Key Points
- The list was based on employment growth, engagement, job interest and attraction of top talent
- To be included on the list, companies have to be operating for five years or less
- Underdog was praised for hitting unicorn status earlier this year
Underdog was awarded third place in this year’s LinkedIn Top 50 Startups List for US companies.
Published by the LinkedIn team, the list is meant to highlight businesses younger than five years old that have made great strides in innovation or disruption in their respective fields.
Underdog, which has just entered its fifth year of operations, hit unicorn status earlier this year and is set to achieve almost $500m in revenue by the end of 2025.
The daily sports fantasy operator is now available in 40 states, Washington DC and Canada.
Jeremy Levine, Underdog Founder and CEO, said: “We got here through a relentless, simple focus: people and product.
“Our belief is if we have the best people and build the best products, we can build the biggest company in the space – and we are on our way.
“This year, with all the incredible disruption the industry has faced, has been more proof of concept, as we have the ability to create innovative offerings with speed and scale to take advantage of opportunity.”
A few weeks ago, Underdog also partnered with Crypto.com to become the first sports gaming operator in the US to offer prediction markets.
Good to know: Previous companies featured on LinkedIn’s Top 50 Startups List include Airbnb, Uber and DoorDash
First place on LinkedIn’s Top 50 Startups List went to Perplexity, an AI company; while second place went to Synctera, a fintech company offering banking-as-a-service.
Underdog placed above companies such as Cadance, a platform for patients to track and manage chronic illnesses; Charlie Health, a mental health service; Ryze, a plant-based coffee company; and Feastables, the snack company launched by MrBeast.
All of this begs the question, can the operator still be called an ‘Underdog’ at this point?
