New York reports $60m in gaming revenue for October

The figure represents 54% year-over-year growth.
Gaming revenue has remained strong in the state of New York according to a monthly earnings report released by the state gaming commission where it was revealed that the take was $60.4m.
This figure marks a year-over-year growth of 54.1%, though the month of September saw a slightly higher revenue at $60.7m.
Breaking the numbers down further, the biggest revenue contributor was the Resorts World Catskills casino after it produced a gross gaming revenue of $19.6m. This was followed by the Rivers Resort and Casino in Schenectady with $16.7m, the Del Lago Resort and Casino in Waterloo, NY with $15.6, and Tioga Downs Racetrack in Nichols with $8.5m
Turnover for slots and table games was strong, having risen 51% over the past year to $627.5m. Again, Resorts World contributed the most to this figure, with $155.6m coming in from slots and $42.9m from table games.
With a revenue of $1.7m, sports betting saw a 37% decrease compared to the year before. The sports betting handle was $25.5m.
Rivers Casino was dominant in this area with a revenue of $949,784. This was followed by Del Lago’s sportsbook with $503,241, Resorts World with $222,437, and Tioga Downs with $43,152.
Growth is expected continue for gambling in the Empire State. The arrival of online sports betting is imminent. The New York Gaming Commission has suggested nine operators to who are deserving of licenses, with Draft Kings, BetMGM, Bally Bet, Caesars Sportsbook, PointsBet, and Resorts World all in the running.
