Louisiana grants GeoComply temporary service provider certificate
Will enable sports betting operators in Louisiana to implement GeoComply’s geolocation compliance technology as well as IDComply.
The fraud prevention and cybersecurity solutions provider, GeoComply, today confirmed that the company has received a temporary certificate of authority in relation to its sports betting application in Louisiana.
“We are so pleased to be approved to service our clients and partners in Louisiana,” said Lindsay Slader, managing director of gaming at GeoComply.
“The launch of sports in Louisiana has been eagerly awaited by the GeoComply team this fall and we are ready to support the deployment of online sports betting as quickly as the state is able to allow it.”
Per the terms of this temporary certificate, sports betting operators in the state will now be able to implement GeoComply’s geolocation compliance technology and its IDComply platform.
IDComply aims to give operators a technical solution that utilizes vendors for KYC and digital identity.
GeoComply’s software is installed on approximately 400 million devices across the globe and studies over 4 billion transactions per year. The company has partnerships with a number of sports betting’s biggest names including DraftKings, FanDuel, and MGM.
This news comes as sports betting begins to launch across the Bayou state, November 1 saw Caesars Entertainment accept its first in-person sports wagers.
Harrah’s New Orleans and Horseshoe Bossier City Hotel & Casino both accepted bets at their respective Caesars Sportsbooks.
