NBA, Tabcorp announce betting partnership
The deal comes as basketball’s popularity is on the rise Down Under.
TAB has announced that it will be the official wagering partner of the National Basketball Association in Australia. The multi-year agreement will see TAB featured on the NBA’s digital platforms, including NBA Australia’s social media accounts and the NBA App. The wagering platform will also be a presenting partner on NBA Pick’Em.
The partnership between the global basketball giant and TAB comes at a time when the NBA’s popularity is on the rise Down Under. TAB is a subsidiary of Tabcorp, Australia’s largest gambling company, and so well matched to help the league grow its profile.
Said Tabcorp’s managing director, Adam Rytenskild: “The NBA is one of the world’s great sporting organizations. [Its] popularity in Australia continues to grow, particularly amongst younger audiences. We have a strong focus on racing and this partnership strengthens TAB’s sport offering which will enable us to introduce new customers to wagering and to racing.”
The NBA is optimistic. The League’s international profile has grown considerably over the past decade, and the deal with TAB is a logical next step in this evolution.
“Fan engagement is the core of our partnership with TAB,” said Scott Levy, NBA Asia’s executive vice president and managing director. “The NBA season is primed to be yet another thrilling basketball showcase, and together with TAB, we will deliver the best possible gaming experience to deepen our engagement with the many passionate NBA fans in Australia who are interested in gaming.”
This deal is not the first time the two entities have worked together. Since 2019, NBA TV in Australia has been broadcasted on Tabcorp’s Sky Channel.
