The Association of Argentine State Lotteries (ALEA) will hold a seminar in Buenos Aires under the motto “towards governance based on legality, transparency and accountability.”
The meeting will bring together national and international regulators, companies, lawyers, and specialists to analyze the current challenges and scope of online gaming and sports betting.
The seminar will be in Buenos Aires City. It will address the main challenges associated with legal online gaming (JOL) and sports betting, focusing on governance, integrity and international regulatory experiences.
The opening session of the event will focus on the core principles of JOL in Argentina, with particular attention to the country’s federal structure, where each province defines its own regulations and oversees operations.
The discussion will explore the institutional role of ALEA and the responsibilities of local regulatory bodies, while also addressing the comparative legal frameworks in authorized jurisdictions, the licensing and monitoring of legitimate operators and the scope of regulatory oversight.
Throughout the conference, an exchange is expected between experts and international leaders such as David Calvete Sarasa, Head of the Gambling Control Service in Spain, and Cecilia Pastor Pons, Deputy Director General for Gambling Inspection at the Spanish Directorate General for the Regulation of Gambling.
They will share key insights from the Spanish regulatory model, along with strategies for detecting and sanctioning fraudulent behavior, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding sports integrity and ensuring the legality of betting activities.
