Betfred will officially be exiting the US market following its decision to cease online operations in Pennsylvania, where it had partnered with Wind Creek Bethlehem to operate its sports wagering application throughout the state.

Betfred originally entered the US sports betting market in 2020 and gained access to states such as Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, Virginia, Iowa and Ohio prior to respective shutdowns.
The operator had reported a net loss of $91.7m throughout the fiscal year in July 2024 after witnessing $25.1m in profit in the prior year period. It now joins fellow sportsbooks such as Unibet, Tipico and Betway in departing the US market over the previous 18 months.
Good to know: The PGCB reported the state’s full year gaming revenue for 2024/2025 (FY24/25) on July 18, having set a new record-high in FY24/25 with a total of nearly $6.4bn, representing an increase of 8.5% from the prior year period
Wind Creek Bethlehem also stated all existing wagers carrying a settlement date on or after July 31 will be sent via check if the bet results in a winning ticket.
Betfred originally closed its operations within the state of Nevada on January 10, leaving Pennsylvania as the last remaining US market in which it was conducting business at the time.
