- Sugarhouse Casino was fined $30,000 for underage gambling incidents
- Seven were individuals added to exclusion lists, including a case involving unattended minors at a casino hotel
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has recently approved two consent agreements, presented by its Office of Enforcement Counsel, resulting in fines totaling $70,000.
Betfair Interactive, operating as FanDuel, was fined $40,000 for failing to properly license several employees. Meanwhile, Sugarhouse HSP Gaming LP, operator of Rivers Philadelphia Casino, received a $30,000 penalty after two incidents in which underage individuals accessed the gaming floor and participated in gambling activities.
In addition to the fines, the Board took action to place seven individuals on various Involuntary Exclusion Lists, barring them from gambling in Pennsylvania casinos, online betting platforms regulated by the Board, or video gaming terminal locations. This move brings the total number of excluded persons to 1,411.
Among those excluded is a woman who left two young children, ages 8 and 9, unattended in a hotel room at Hollywood Casino at the Meadows for nearly eight hours while she gambled.
The Board emphasized that leaving minors unattended in casino premises “creates a potentially unsafe and dangerous environment for the children” and reminded the public of its ongoing awareness campaign, “Don’t Gamble with Kids.”
Good to know: The state regulator recently added 14 individuals to its various Involuntary Exclusion Lists following reports from the Office of Chief Counsel and Office of Enforcement Counsel
Additionally, two individuals were added to the exclusion list for fraudulent activities related to online gambling.
The PGCB is scheduled to meet next on August 20, 2025, in Harrisburg. Further details and the meeting agenda will be available on the Board’s website prior to the session.
