Pennsylvania records first-ever $600m monthly gaming revenue in May 2025

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has reported the state’s total gaming revenue for May 2025, having managed to generate $601.8m throughout the period which represents an increase of 15.5% year-over-year and the first-ever $600m-plus month for Pennsylvania gaming.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course led all properties located across Pennsylvania in gaming revenue recorded for May 2025, producing over $107.1m for an increase of 31.2% from the prior year period. Valley Forge Casino was the only property to also eclipse the $100m mark for May 2025, generating $105.8m and growing 33% year-over-year.
Park Casino and Rivers Casino Philadelphia each managed to generate over $50m of revenue throughout the month, reporting totals of $59.1m and $58.3m, respectively, for increases of 4.4% and 14.5% from the prior year period.
Hollywood Casino at the Meadows witnessed significant improvement in its gaming revenue by increasing over 18% year-over-year to $33.5m for May 2025, while Wind Creek Bethlehem and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh reported decreases of 1.9% and 1.6% from the prior year period, respectively, for totals of $45.4m and $31.9m.
In terms of gaming type, retail slots led the way with a May 2025 gaming revenue of $224.9m, representing an increase of 5% year-over-year, with its iGaming slot counterpart generating $177.2m for growth of 39.6% from the prior year period.
Retail table games witnessed a decrease in revenue of 4.6% year-over-year, but still managed to produce $79.9m of revenue throughout the period. Sports wagering and iGaming tables each reported increases in revenue from the prior year period, rising by 34.4% and 17.8%, respectively, for May 2025 totals of $59.4m and $52.9m.

The total sports wagering handle for May 2025 was reported to be nearly $655.4m by the PGCB, equating to an increase of 10.7% year-over-year. Online betting accounted for over $56.4m of the total revenue generated from sports wagering, while retail revenue produced the remaining $3m for the period.
Valley Forge Casino reported the highest revenue of any property with a total handle of $252.8m, while Hollywood Casino at the Meadows took in $168.9m worth of bets as well.
The two properties reported sports wagering revenues of $28.4m and $15.7m for May 2025, respectively, while Hollywood Casino York and the property located at Penn National Race Course managed to generate $2.8m and just over $2.6m.
Parx Casino reported the highest retail slot and table game revenue total of any property over the course of May 2025, producing $34.5m from slots for an increase of 5.8% year-over-year and growing its retail table game revenue by 0.14% for a total of $18.3m.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course managed to report a total iGaming revenue of $90.1m for May 2025, leading all properties and trailed mainly by Valley Forge Casino Resort which accounted for $64.1m of the state’s total iGaming revenue.
