Venetian Resort & Casino reaches first-ever agreement with Local 501

The Venetian Resort & Casino in Las Vegas has finalized its first-ever contract with Operating Engineers Local 501, covering approximately 400 union workers for wage increases, annual bonuses, medical coverage, free craft training and a defined-benefit pension plan.
The new contract follows a multi-union organizing campaign that resulted in a neutrality agreement formed in 2023 and the successful unionization of Local 501 at Venetian Resort & Casino during July 2024.
“This CBA reflects the hard work, dedication and solidarity of the 400 men and women who help raise the standard for our trades in Las Vegas,” Local 501 Director of Organizing Jose Soto said.
“Local 501 is proud to have worked alongside The Venetian Resort facilities maintenance workers and slot technicians for the last two years to secure an area-leading contract.”
For Las Vegas, Local 501 represents maintenance engineers, slot technicians and other facilities workers, as the Union aids more than 10,000 workers across Nevada, Arizona and southern California.
Local 501 worked alongside Culinary Union Local 226, Bartenders Local 165 and Teamsters Local 986 to secure a card check neutrality agreement with The Venetian Resort & Casino two years prior to the inaugural contract.

“We are grateful for the strong partnership with Operating Engineers Local 501 and we look forward to a continued collaborative relationship as we move toward the future,” Venetian Resort & Casino Chief Human Resources Officer Matt Krystofiak said.
The Union also went on to state it currently has not reached agreement on new contracts with Wynn Las Vegas or the Fontainebleau, as a spokesperson for Wynn Las Vegas told local news outlets the company would not comment on the matter.
