Total gaming revenue in Pennsylvania hits $558.7m for April 2025

The figure represents an increase of 10.7% year-over-year and was primarily driven by Valley Forge Casino Resort, which accounted for nearly $99.1m of the state’s total gaming revenue.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has released the state’s gaming activity for April 2025, including an increase in total gaming revenue of 10.7% from the prior year period for a total of $558.7m. The figure was primarily driven by retail slot revenue which generated $203.1m throughout the period but decreased 1.2% year-over-year, while iGaming slot revenue grew by 34.5% from the prior year period to produce $169.5m. 

For the performance of Pennsylvania’s casino resorts, the state’s Valley Forge property reported the highest gaming revenue for April 2025, accounting for $99.1m of revenue throughout the period and increasing 16.1% year-over-year. Valley Forge Casino Resort produced $66.7m of iGaming revenue for April 2025, equating to an increase of 38.8% from the prior year period. 

Hollywood Casino, Rivers Casino Philadelphia and Parx Casino were each able to surpass the $50m revenue threshold as well, accounting for $97.7m, $56.2m and $54.2m, respectively, representing increases of 24.7%, 14.5% and 0.8% year-over-year. Wind Creek Bethlehem also managed to witness growth in gaming revenue for April 2025, rising by 3.2% from the prior year period for a total of $47.8m.

Revenue for both retail table activity and iGaming tables increased from the prior year period throughout April 2025, as retail table game revenue grew by 2.7% year-over-year to $80.6m, while iGaming table revenue accounted for $55.9m and rose 24.2%. Sports wagering revenue in Pennsylvania was reported to be just over $42.5m, equating to an increase of 0.3% year-over-year, while fantasy contest revenue grew by 2.3% from the prior year period for an April 2025 total of $1.3m.

The PGCB also reported a total sports wagering handle of $711.6m for April 2025, of which $41.2m of revenue was generated from online sports betting, while the remaining $1.4m stemmed from retail activity. Valley Forge Casino Resort accounted for the highest sports wagering revenue of any property in the state at $20.1m, while Hollywood Casino was the only property to also surpass $2m of revenue with a total of $12.1m for April 2025. 

Despite the $20.1m sports wagering revenue figure for the period, Valley Forge Casino Resort still witnessed a decrease of 21% from the prior year period, while Hollywood Casino managed to increase its revenue from sports betting by 23.6% throughout the month. Presque Isle Downs and Casino generated a significant increase of 2762.2% for sports wagering revenue year-over-year, accounting for $1.9m and reporting the third-highest total of any property. 

DraftKings led the way in fantasy contest revenue with a total of $946k for April 2025, increasing by 3.3% year-over-year while FanDuel’s fantasy contest revenue decreased by 14.5% from the prior year period to just $181.1k. Underdog Sports was a close third to FanDuel in fantasy contest revenue for April 2025, reporting $114.6k in revenue for an increase of 36.3% year-over-year.
