Betano to showcase European trophies as part of UEFA partnership

Trophy exhibitions were held in Bulgaria, Romania and Portugal, joined by Gianluigi Buffon, among other soccer players.

Betano has launched an initiative, in collaboration with UEFA, to bring the UEFA Europa League and Conference League trophies closer to fans across Europe.

As part of the celebrations marking Betano’s three-year global sponsorship of the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League from the 2024/25 to the 2026/27 seasons, the trophies were showcased in Romania, Portugal and, for the first time, in Sofia, Bulgaria.

The UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League trophies were presented at the Sofia Event Center in the Paradise Center mall, which featured UEFA Ambassador Gianluigi Buffon.

Gianluigi Buffon said: “I am truly honored to join the Betano Trophy Event as a UEFA Ambassador. It is a great opportunity to visit Sofia for the first time and engage with such a passionate football community. I’m excited to share this experience with Bulgarian fans and celebrate the spirit of the game together.”

Bulgarian football legend Krasimir Balakov and pop-folk singer Galena also participated in the event.

In January, the trophies were showcased at Park Lake Shopping Center in Bucharest, Romania, during an event where attendees had the chance to view the trophies up close and meet players from Fotbal Club FCSB, the reigning Romanian league champions, sponsored by Betano.

The trophies were also presented in Porto, Portugal, attracting more than 1,700 fans who had the opportunity to see them up close. Attendees were also joined by Helton, the former captain of FC Porto and winner of the 2011 UEFA Europa League. 

During the gathering, Helton recounted his experience of the 2011 all-Portuguese Europa League final in Dublin and the moment of celebrating the victory with FC Porto supporters.

Along with the upcoming season, Betano intends to continue hosting UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League events in new cities.
