Lottery Operator of Rio de Janeiro becomes official sponsor of State Championship

Loterj has secured naming rights for the competition and will support men’s, women’s and youth categories across Rio de Janeiro state.

The State Lottery of Rio de Janeiro (Loteria do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – Loterj) has been announced as the official sponsor of the Campeonato Estadual Carioca da Série A2, the second-tier state football championship organised by the Football Federation of the State of Rio de Janeiro (FFERJ).

The deal includes naming rights, with the tournament now officially called Campeonato Estadual Loterj – Série A2.The BR14m investment will cover all professional games and extends to under-15, under-17, under-20, and women’s competitions, reinforcing access and opportunity to athlets through sport. The sponsorship also highlights the state government’s push to promote youth development and social inclusion through public partnerships.

Loterj President Hazenclever Lopes Cançado described the project as aligned with the lottery’s mission to generate a positive social impact in Rio. “By supporting the Série A2 State Championship, including the youth and women’s divisions, we’re encouraging sport, uncovering talent and creating opportunity across the state,” he said.

Twelve teams will take part in this year’s championship and the competition’s opening match will be held at Estádio Giulite Coutinho in Mesquita, a city in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
