Arizona regulator encourages RG ahead of the Big Game

The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) has published some responsible gaming tips and guidelines ahead of the upcoming Super Bowl.
This year’s Super Bowl matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles kicks off at 6:30pm Sunday, February 9 in New Orleans’ Caesar Superdome.
In anticipation of the Big Game, the Arizona regulator has encouraged players to “bet responsibility and within the bounds of the law.”
ADG Director Jackie Johnson said, “The Super Bowl is an exciting event that brings communities together, but it’s essential to approach event wagering with caution and accountability.
“We encourage all Arizonans to enjoy the game responsibly by ensuring their wagers are placed legally and thoughtfully.”
The ADG included a list of warning signs of potential illegal activity and asked players to watch out for operators and websites that ask to pay a fee in order to participate, for hosts that keep percentages of the pool, required minimum purchase like food or beverages, underage participants and unequal odds.
Johnson also encouraged players to use licensed operators when placing wagers.
The director said in closing, “Illegal gambling undermines public safety and the integrity of the game, while responsible betting practices help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.”
Good to know: The state of Arizona allows certain games that are styled as “free-to-play”
However, free-to-play platforms that promote illegal gambling are not permitted in Arizona.
The ADG has advised players to check out sites before betting, verify sources before sharing personal information, be skeptical of social media ads that promise “guaranteed wins” and search for sites that include responsible gaming messaging and self-exclusion options.
