MGM National Harbor has begun its cultural festivities to celebrate the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Snake, including a Conservatory display and scheduled events for guests. Events will include a lion and dragon dance set for January 26 as well as a special Lunar New Year’s menu at the property’s Ginger restaurant.
The lion and dragon dance is a traditional celebration for the holiday that is said to bring prosperity and good luck for the upcoming year. The special Lunar New Year menu at Ginger’s will be made available for patrons from January 24 through February 2, which will feature fried crab claws and golden egg yolk lobster.
The 2025 Lunar New Year Conservatory display will be highlighted by a 28-foot-tall snake, a 30-foot-tall bonsai tree, a 25-foot-tall golden bamboo forest, a money tree with 260 oversized gold coins and more.
Guests will be able to experience the display beginning on January 10 and all the way through March 30. The lion and dragon dance is set to begin in the casino’s valet area before making its way throughout the property.

MGM National Harbor is also coming off positive December gaming revenue results, having been one of just two properties in Maryland to see increases year-over-year. The property grew its gaming revenue by 4% from the prior year period according to Maryland Lottery and Gaming, generating $73.6m throughout the final month of 2024.
Maryland’s six casinos that report to Maryland Lottery and Gaming combined to generate $164.1m, which represents a decrease of over $1.5m year-over-year.
