US commercial gaming revenue reaches $5.81bn for October

The American Gaming Association (AGA) has released its national gambling report for the month of October.
Revenue nationwide reached $5.81bn and grew by close to 2% when compared to results posted a year ago. The revenue total represents US iGaming, traditional casino games and sports betting.
The AGA reported that October’s industry revenue “set a new monthly high for October.”
The US gaming industry has reflected monthly growth for 44 consecutive months, the AGA report said.
Traditional casino gambling nationwide contributed the largest portion to the over October revenue total. Close to $4.03bn came from traditional casino games during the month.
October iGaming throughout the US has expanded, according to the AGA report. Online gaming revenue for the month reached $758.4m and grew year-over-year by 34.1%.
Sports betting revenue in October totaled $1.02bn, generated by both land-based and online operations. US gambling generated $1.08bn in state taxes during the month of October.

For the first 10 months of this year, gaming revenue in the US has reached $59.11bn, a year-over-year increase of 7.3%.
Regulated gaming operators have contributed $12.61bn in gaming taxes during the first 10 months of 2024.
Six year ago, the US Supreme Court overturned a federal ban on sports betting. Since lifting the ban, 38 states, as well as the District of Columbia have passed laws legalizing sports wagering.
Missouri is the latest state to say yes to a regulated sports betting market within its borders. Voters during the November election gave the green light for bringing sports wagering to Missouri, bringing the state one step closer to joining the growing US market.
