DraftKings has opted to move its live dealer studio in Atlantic City, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report.
This is scheduled to take place early next year. According to a filing with the New Jersey of Labor and Workforce Development, the move could affect as many as 101 employees.
The studio currently operates out of Atlantic City’s Golden Nugget Casino and allows local patrons to play online with a human dealer instead of with computer software.
In an email sent to the Business Journal, a company spokesperson said that DraftKings “will transition its online live dealer operations for the state to third-party studios located in the New Jersey gaming town,” which will not interrupt the company’s live dealer offerings.
The spokesperson went on to add, “We are supporting impacted employees to offer a smooth transition for as many as possible.”
The studio at Golden Nugget will close January 31.
However, DraftKings has not disclosed how many studio employees will remain with the company.
