The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) recently issued Israel-based Papaya Gaming a cease-and-desist letter following its investigation into suspected illegal gambling activities.
The Michigan regulator went on to note that due to the illegal activity, the Israel-based company is in violation of Michigan’s Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Penal Code and the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act.
The MGCB said in a statement, “Papaya Gaming has 14 days from receipt of the letter to take steps to prevent Michigan residents from gambling on their apps or the MGCB will take legal action.”
The agency received an anonymous tip which prompted the investigation.
The board discovered that Papaya Gaming operates illegal gambling in the state of Michigan by offering a mobile application that includes Bingo Cash, 21 Cash, Bubble Cash and Solitaire Cash.

“Don’t Regret the Bet” was launched last year and was designed as an integrated marketing campaign “to prevent gambling problems before they start and reduce the number of people in Michigan who develop a serious gambling addiction.”
