Bally’s unveils demolition plans for Tropicana
The new Oakland A’s baseball stadium will occupy the vacant space.

Bally’s has released additional details regarding the Tropicana hotel towers, according to a local news report from KTNV News in Las Vegas.
The company shared its plans to implode the towers in “just over a week,” the local report said.
The implosion is scheduled October 9 at 2AM and should take several hours to complete.
The Tropicana site will become the future home of the new Oakland A’s baseball stadium. The team has considered moving to the Las Vegas Valley for the better part of two years.
Once completed, the new baseball stadium would reside on the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip. The new venue would be able to seat between 30,000 and 35,000 fans.

In addition to the stadium, Bally’s said it plans to build a new casino hotel on the property. The company described the new venue as a “world-class entertainment resort destination.”
Tropicana made its debut in Las Vegas in 1957. Bally’s issued a release that reflected on the rich history of the hotel and its impact on the city.
Bally’s said in a statement, “From its Rat Pack-era heyday and the glamorous Folies Bergère to now the future home of the Athletics and a cutting-edge entertainment complex by Bally’s Corporation, the Tropicana’s history reflects the spirit of reinvention and excitement that defines Las Vegas.”
Bally’s has opted to keep the public away from the implosion site due to safety regulations.
Although there will be no plans to allow the public to be present to view the demolition, people will have an opportunity to watch the event through local news television access. The public can also watch through various online and social media live streams.
