Pennsylvania August gaming revenue reaches $510.1m
The state posted significant year-over-year growth.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has released its gaming results for the month of August.
Total revenue for the month reflected all forms of gaming around the state, including fantasy contests, the control board said.
During the month, the state generated nearly $510.1m in revenue last month. August’s total revenue grew by 11.6% year-over-year.
Pennsylvania sports betting brought in a $485.2m handle in August. Online bets contributed $457.5m to the last month’s total, while retail sports betting chipped in another $27.7m.
Online casinos games brought in close to $183.7m during the month of August. Last month’s online casino revenue total grew by nearly $40m year-over-year.
Retail table alone brought in $80.9m in revenue last month. However, August revenue decreased by close to $2m when compared to last year’s figures.
But the August reported showed that revenue from retail slot games grew when compared to last year’s results.
Revenue from retail slot machines last month in Pennsylvania reached $211.1m, up by nearly $8m year-over-year.
The PGCB regulates various forms of gaming around the state, including video gaming terminals (VGTs), slots, table games, iGaming, sports betting and fantasy contests.
In other news, Gain-focused developer Wazdan recently teamed up with RSI to launch its games in the state of Pennsylvania. This move is part of the company’s ongoing North American expansion plan.
Under the terms of the deal, Wazdan can offer players throughout the state its signature titles through RSI’s brands.
