ACR Poker launches new $5m tournament promotion
The event will set the stage for the company’s $40m GTD OSS XL series that follows immediately after.
ACR Poker has announced a new week-long “supersized” tournament promotion, with a $5m purse guaranteed (GTD) to be paid out to winners. In addition to running this promotion, ACR Poker is also holding an $8m Mystery Bounty and $2m PLO Venom tournament throughout August.
Running from August 25 until September 3, the promotion will feature 20 events and set the stage for ACR Poker’s $40m GTD OSS XL series that follows immediately after.
“Our Mystery Bounty and PLO Venom tourneys showed just how big things can get here, and now we’re taking it up a notch,” ACR Poker Pro Chris Moneymaker said.
“With $5m guaranteed in our Supersized Tourney Week which leads into our $40m guaranteed OSS XL series, this is where big gets even bigger.”
The headline events during the week are the $750,000 GTD Sunday High Roller and the $500,000 GTD Banana, both starting on August 25. Players will also have a chance to compete in the $300,000 GTD PKO and the $400,000 GTD Sunday Moneymaker on September 1.
There are also two new events on the schedule, a $100,000 GTD Turbo on August 27 and a $400,000 GTD on September 3.
Formerly known as Americas Cardroom, ACR Poker joined the Winning Poker Network in 2011.
In March, high-stakes poker player Tom Dwan joined ACR Poker as a Team Pro. Dwan held the record for winning the largest televised cash game pot at the time of announcement.
Dwan and other well-known poker stars that include Moneymaker, the 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion, Chris Moorman and Jose ‘Nacho’ Barbero currently make up the ACR Poker team.
