Soloviev Group has selected former New York State Deputy Secretary for Public Safety and Homeland Security Advisor Hon. Michael Balboni for the role of Freedom Plaza’s Safety and Security Advisor.
The Freedom Plaza development project will be across six acres of land. The project is under development through a partnership with Tribal operator Mohegan.
Soloviev Group CEO Michael Hershman said the company is eager to welcome Balboni aboard.

His duties will include overseeing safety and security preparations relating to the downstate casino bid. Balboni will work in tandem with the Freedom Plaza leadership team to affirm a community-first approach that keeps public safety and quality of life at the forefront.
He will focus on emergency preparedness, risk management and security staff in collaboration with local law enforcement while in this role.
