Gaming company Elys has received approval from the DC Office of Lottery and Gaming, Regulation and Oversight Division, to launch its Grand Central Sportsbook in the DC area.
This marks the third independently owned sportsbook the company has opened in Washington DC.
Elys says it strives to “become a global leader in the gaming industry through the development of pioneering and innovative online casino and sportsbook software.”
The company aims to open its latest Grand Central location on H Street ahead of this year’s March Madness tournament.
Elys went on to add that subsequent launches are expected to follow later this year. The company focused on extending its online sports betting reach into multiple US jurisdictions during the last quarter of 2023.
Elys said it will continue to specifically focus on growth within US states under direct licensing through its market access partnerships.
The company said in a statement, “The company is preparing to sequentially open multiple new retail sportsbook operations in Washington DC and other states throughout 2024 and looks forward to launching its online sportsbook in Colorado on a B2C basis through the market access agreement with Caesars Entertainment.”
Elys BMG Group offers its clients a wide variety of omnichannel gaming options, including online sports betting, e-sports, virtual sports, online casino, poker, bingo, interactive games, and online slots. The company currently operates in three US states, along with the District of Columbia.
Elys recently introduced its “5D by Elys” mobile app through its SportBet.com brand. The app is designed to include “a comprehensive sports betting platform enriched with advanced features and seamless cross-platform compatibility.”
SportBet.com is the company’s new US-focused online and mobile sportsbook brand. The site is available to North American players on the newly created Elys America platform.
