The ceremony for the $270m+ casino was hosted by The Cordish Companies affiliate LRGC Gaming Investors.

Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, the first land-based casino in the Shreveport-Bossier area, celebrated the beginning of its construction with a groundbreaking ceremony hosted by The Cordish Companies affiliate LRGC Gaming Investors.

Attendees included Louisiana State Senator Barrow Peacock, State Representative Sam L. Jenkins, Jr. and Louisiana Gaming Control Board Chairman Ronnie Johns, with The Cordish Companies Principal Jon Cordish hosting. Attendees posed for photos with the first digs of the shovels, which were marked with the Live! logo.

The Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana is expected to open its doors in 2025. The property will offer over 47,000 square feet of gaming space with over 1,000 slots and 40 table games, plus access to a sportsbook. There will also be dining and entertainment available, with names including Sports & Social and PBR Cowboy Bar – names recognizable to regular Live! property-goers due to their place at venues in Texas, Nashville and Philadelphia.

All of this will be available on top of a 550-room hotel, which will offer guests amenities including a fitness center and pool. The venue will be built on the grounds that formally held the Diamond Jacks Casino & Hotel, which was acquired by The Cordish Companies earlier this year

The City of Bossier expects that the new Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana will generate $168m in gaming tax revenues for the state, with $35m going directly to the city, in the first five years of operations. The venture will also generate over 1,500 jobs, both from the property's construction and in permanent gaming and hospitality positions.

Event host Jon Cordish said, “With the first land-based casino in the market, Live! Casino will be a transformative development that will bring a first-class gaming and entertainment experience to millions of visitors.

“I’d like to thank state and local officials, in particular Mayor Chandler and Ronnie Johns, for their continued support for this project.”
