Basketball global governing body FIBA and Genius Sports have expanded their long-term partnership until 2035. Under the terms of the amended agreement, both companies will work together to provide national federations and leagues with computer vision technology and AI-powered capabilities.
The duo’s collaboration goes back nearly two decades. Since 2004, Genius Sports and FIBA have supplied live data and technology solutions to more than 200 national leagues.
FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis elaborated further by saying, “For almost 20 years, FIBA and Genius Sports have joined forces in developing the most innovative tools for leagues and national federations across all levels of basketball.
"Through this automated solution, our objective is to assist National Federations and Leagues to increase their reach and revenue and at the same time, reduce costs.
