The NFL elimination-style contest lost 371 players after Thanksgiving weekend games and has a prize pool over over $9m.

Circa Sports, sports betting brand of Circa Resort & Casino and its founder Derek Stevens, has only 80 entrants left in its seasonal NFL Circa Survivor contest. Results of the Thanksgiving weekend football games eliminated 78% of remaining contestants (371) from a total number of 9,2267 original entries.

The contest divided the Thanksgiving holiday weekend into two weeks, as there were games on both Thanksgiving itself and Black Friday, as well as games on Sunday and Monday, which counted as a separate week during Circa Survivor. Now, the ‘survivor’ (or survivors) still in play at the end of the contest will win a prize pool of $9,267,000 with no rake.

Detroit’s loss eliminated 216 players, including one aptly named contestant going by Motorcity, who had all 10 entries reach this weekend, but had also placed all 10 on Detroit to win. Tennessee was most picked to win, with 46 contestants pleased when it beat North Carolina, while 36 players picked New England, only for it to lose.

However, 80 entries at this time is not as low as last year’s number of 71 after the Thanksgiving weekend games. Circa Survivor’s 2022 winners were two contestants who split $6.1m.

Circa Sports also hosts the Circa Million contest with $6m in guaranteed prizes, as opposed to this year’s Circa Survivor record prize pool of over $9m. this contest operates by contestants making 5 picks every week with points awarded for correct choices and $300,000 awarded each quarter.

Circa, which has made sporting events a literally huge part of its casino and brand, recently hosted an F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix watch party and launched Circa Sports in Illinois with a new sportsbook at The Temporary in Waukegan as well.
