Circa Sports has entered the Illinois sports wagering game via both a retail sportsbook and the Circa Sports mobile app. Las Vegas casino mogul, Derek Stevens, has previously launched the brand in Nevada, Colorado and Iowa.
Stevens said of the opening, “The debut of Circa Sports Illinois is a tremendous moment for our company, and we are thrilled to have worked with this great state and Full House Resorts to bring the expansion to life.
“There's nothing like a Midwest sports fan and we know our product matches up with what they are looking for in a betting experience."
Former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher will celebrate the opening of the new Circa Sportsbook on Wednesday October 4 at 2:30pm by both placing a bet and holding meet-and-greets with local football fans. A baseball wild card watch party will also take place that evening.
The Circa Sportsbook venue is now part of The Temporary by American Place in Waukegan, Illinois in partnership with Full House Resorts. The Temporary opened in February this year, while the permanent American Place facility states on its website that its “on track to open in roughly three years.”
Chief Development Officer for Full House Resorts, Alex Stolyar, said, “We are thrilled for Circa Sports to launch their sportsbook in Illinois in partnership with our American Place Casino. The sportsbook gives new and existing casino customers throughout Chicagoland one more reason to visit and frequent American Place."
The permanent casino will feature around 1,600 slot machines, 100 table games, a 20-villa hotel and a 1,500-seat entertainment venue with various restaurant and bar options.
Bettors may wager with Circa Sports from anywhere in Illinois and do not need to be present to register.
