DraftKings has announced an agreement with ECL Corbin (Corbin), subsidiary of ECL Entertainment, to provide mobile sports betting in Kentucky. Doing business as The Mint Gaming Hall at Cumberland and Cumberland Run, Corbin will also offer a DraftKings retail sportsbook at its properties, after regulatory and license approval.
Kentucky will become the 22nd state where DraftKings’ mobile sportsbook is live, following this planned launch, and the 24th state with any kind of DraftKings presence.
Gaming America recently predicted such a future for DraftKings in the Bluegrass state, in an analysis of seven venues and seven sports betting operators, all vying for possible Kentucky licensing.
DraftKings North America President, Matt Kalish, said, "Together with the Corbin properties, we’re excited to bring our sports betting experience to yet another state and its sports fans.
“We want to thank the Kentucky General Assembly for passing legislation and Governor Andy Beshear for his support of sports wagering as we look forward to launching our sportsbook product during a busy football season, pending licensure and regulatory approvals.”
Marc Falcone and Ron Winchell, Co-Managing Partners of Corbin, said, "The Corbin properties are truly excited to work with DraftKings, one of the country's leading sportsbook operators."
In fact, DraftKings is currently only second in the market to FanDuel after looking at Q2 and H1 reporting for each brand.
Last week, the operator also announced a 'mini' rebrand, including a new tagline: "The crown is yours." Comedian Kevin Hart and ‘retired NFL smart guy’ Ryan Fitzpatrick have also become brand ambassadors in commercials for DraftKings' newest offers.
