Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel in Las Vegas has revealed its latest Million Dollar Display. Guests can visit the attraction on Freemont Street starting at 10AM and take a free souvenir photo.
This display offers visitors immediate access to photos through an automated processing feature. Photos will be sent to guests via email or on their mobile devices.
Million Dollar Display has added some other features this year that include a video that will play during the event on a 50-inch TV. Video content includes cage employees stacking the cash into a plexiglass display case shaped like a pyramid. Guests can watch as armed guards accompany the display through the casino and situate the case in the display area.
The list of denominations included add up to exactly $1m. The display contains $42,000 in $1 bills, $688,000 in $20 bills and $270,000 in $100 bills.
Binion’s display has been an annual event since 1954. The first Million Dollar Display held 100 bills valued at $10,000 each incased in a horseshoe-shaped display.
The casino further explained the history of the display in an official statement, “When Terry Caudill, president and owner of TLC Gaming Enterprises, purchased Binion’s, one of the first things he did was bring back the Million Dollar Display, but transformed it into a pyramid of $1m placed on a poker table for everyone to enjoy.”
The display has run every year since but was put on hold in 2020 during Covid-19. This is the first year for the event post-pandemic.
Binion’s debuted in Las Vegas in 1951. Binion, a Texas gambler, purchased the Fremont Street casino property. Binion was the first to provide transportation for casino guests and to install carpet throughout the location.
