The company's sustainability charter focuses on regulated markets, safer gaming, corporate governance and investment in the community.

Entain has released its ESG report for 2022-2023, to clarify the operator’s goals in the environmental, social and governance aspects of its business. Sustainability has been presented as one of Entain’s main concerns, alongside growth within the industry.

Outside of ESG, Entain reported that BetMGM achieved 18% of US market share overall, with a 30% market share in the iGaming sector. The company has plans for further growth within both the US and Canadian markets, entering new states as they regulate.

A sustainability charter implemented by the company has been built around four core principles. Last year, Entain also led a sustainability-focused industry event called Entain Sustain.

The first pillar focuses on exclusively operating within regulated markets. In total, 100% of Entain’s revenue currently results from domestically regulated markets, where the brand holds licenses in 30 countries and 26 North American markets.

The second pillar concerns safer betting and gaming, for which Entain has begun rolling out its Advanced Responsibility and Care (ARC) Player Protection Program within 22 international markets.

Pursuing the highest standards of corporate governance is the third pillar, which has led Entain to publish its first board diversity policy. The company stated that 33% of its Board of Directors is female and that mandatory employee training has reached 93%, a rise from 82% two years ago.

Entain’s final pillar is the investment in its people and communities. This includes a pledge to meet net-zero carbon emissions by 2035, further investments by the Entain Foundation to promote local sports teams, efforts to close the gender pay gap, provision of wellbeing programs and a goal for the reduction of greenhouse gases.

The company also supports Epic Risk Management with its betting education program in collaboration with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The program’s research targeted student athletes across 61 colleges with information about how to seek support in problem gambling situations.

Entain CEO Jette Nygaard-Andersen said, “We are proud to provide the safest possible betting and gaming platform, take a leading role in supporting the communities in which we operate, reduce our environmental impact and in doing so, making Entain the best place to work for all of our people.”
