Running from 10am to 2pm in the casino's Event Center, Rivers aims to fill dozens of roles.

Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady has announced it will be holding a hiring event on March 28. Running from 10am to 2pm in the casino’s Event Center, Rivers aims to fill dozens of roles, ranging from entry-level positions to management roles.

Members of Rivers Casino’s HR department will head up the interviews, speaking to candidates for part-time and full-time jobs. They expect to interview for roles in their gaming, IT, security, marketing, and food and beverage departments among others.

Applicants must be at least 18-years-old, with some positions requiring applicants who are 21 or older. Rivers Casino asks that all applicants bring their resumes with them to the event.

Speaking on behalf of the company, Linda Waters, VP of Human Resources at Rivers Casino had this to say, “Rivers Casino is a high-energy and fun place to work, and a fantastic place to start a successful career in the gaming and hospitality industry.”

Rivers Casino also notes that its advertised full-time positions all include benefits like employer-funded insurance plans, paid time off, tuition reimbursement and more.

The Schenectady location is one of Rivers Casino’s newer offerings, opening in February 2017. Since opening, Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady has added more than 1,000 jobs.

A Covid shutdown resulted in a major reduction in staff. Following that shutdown and its reopening, Rivers is looking to grow its team once again. To that end, the company offers free training on the job and runs 20 dealer academies.

Rivers Casino Portsmouth, meanwhile, generated $24.5m in revenue for its first month of business.
