The company recently gained operator and supplier license approvals within the province.

Betsson Group has gained supplier and operator licenses in the Canadian province of Ontario. The approvals have paved the way for the company to launch its Betsafe brand launch in the province.

In addition to the Betsafe release, Betsson now has the green light to offer other operators its sportsbook on a B2B basis.

The company said it has “localized its product offering for Ontarians.” Players throughout the province can access both Betsafe’s sports betting and online casino through the Strive Gaming platform, as well as through Betsson’s native mobile apps.

The group said in a statement: “Ontarian gamblers get to choose between thousands of high-quality games, including a great selection of online slot games, blackjack, roulette and other table game variations, immersive live casino games and exhilarating jackpots.”

Ontario’s iGaming market opened last April. Since going live, the market has licensed more than 50 iGaming operators and continues to expand throughout the region. Prior to the launch, local lotteries traditionally dominated Canada’s gambling sector.

Betsson said it expects Ontario’s market to grow into one of the largest in North America, and said the company will remain focused on offering its players high-quality and safe products.

Betsson has grown significantly throughout Europe and said part of its expansion strategy is attributed to acquisitions. The company maintains an ongoing commitment to managing online gaming companies and adapting its platforms to localized audiences.

For the past 15 years, the Betsafe brand has been legalized and managed by Mata Gaming Authority (MGA).
