The company began its renovation after acquiring the destination in 2021.

New York-based real estate development and investment firm, Dreamscape Companies, has revealed its latest boutique hotel project, The Palmetto, is almost complete and scheduled to open next month.

The Palmetto is located in Charleston, South Carolina’s historic French Quarter. The company first acquired the property in 2021 and has since revamped the hotel “to provide a deeply authentic Charleston experience” to local residents, as well as to incoming tourists.

Dreamscape Hospitality President Scott Broder commented: "The Palmetto is a truly special property in Charleston that we hope will be a local institution for many years to come.

"We expect its effortless style, prime location, and impeccable service to resonate with Charleston locals and tourists alike."

The Palmetto’s upgraded décor includes a “warm and deeply empathetic design” and features party pictures in black and white, as well as ambiance and references to the city of Charleston. The hotel will offer guests 45 rooms with views of the historic French Quarter.

Guests will also have access to the city’s waterways and signature restaurants, all within walking distance of The Palmetto.

The company said in a statement: “The cumulative result is a singular guest experience that seamlessly embraces the warmth and sophistication inherently found in genuine southern hospitality without becoming uptight to create a sensation akin to coming home when residing at the property.”

Dreamscape was founded by Eric Birnbaum. The company has deployed nearly $35bn across its retail, residential, hospitality, entertainment and gaming endeavors.

Dreamscape currently has assets in several US cities, including New York, Miami, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans and Charleston.
