The sportsbook will sponsor Loundon United FC, a soccer team in the USL Championship.

Betfred Sports has officially launched in Virginia, which will be the ninth state the sportsbook is active in. The company is set to become the official sports betting partner of Loundon United FC, a Virginian soccer team in the USL Championship.

It will be the ‘back of jersey’ sponsor for the club’s home and away kits for the 2023 championship season.

Betfred USA Sports COO Bryan Bennett commented: “We are excited to finally begin online operations in the Commonwealth of Virginia and look forward to activating our partnership with Loudoun United.

"This is the ideal time to launch sports betting with several major sporting events happening over the coming weeks and months, and of course with the USL Championship season kicking off soon."

Betfred is a British operator that is aiming to make its presence well-known in the US. The company recently launched Betfred Rewards for customers, aiming to build loyalty via Fred Bets, bet insurance, merchandise, game tickets and more.

Loudoun United FC Executive Business Officer Doug Raftery reflected Bennett’s enthusiasm, remarking: “We're excited to introduce the Red-and-White Community to our sports betting partner, Betfred.

"You can expect to see a prominent presence from Betfred at home games and various online club channels. We look forward to a fantastic 2023 season and helping to scale our business together."

The Betfred Sportsbook mobile betting app can be found on the Apple App Store, the Google Play Store or by visiting Betfred’s official website. Virginian customers over the age of 21 will now be able to access all of its betting services.

Virginia will seem like an attractive prospect to all major sportsbooks at the moment, having reported a substantial 64% year-on-year increase in sports betting handle last September.
