Elys Game Technology partners with Cloakbook for sportsbook soft launch

The duo was recently granted an operating license for the upcoming release scheduled before the New Year.

Elys Game Technology has established a joint venture with Cloakbook, LLC, which is a certified business entity out of Washington DC. The interactive gaming and sports betting company expects a sportsbook soft launch in the DC area at Cloakroom Gentlemen’s Club prior to New Year’s Eve weekend.

The Cloakroom Gentlemen’s Club DC has been granted an operating license by the District of Columbia’s Office of Lottery and Gaming (DCOLG), which will allow the location feature Elys’ sportsbook.

Elys said players can have access to sportsbook wagering at Cloakroom’s Over Under rooftop lounge as early as 4PM on December 29.

Elys Executive Chairman Michele Ciavarella said the company looks forward to links arms with Cloakroom for the joint venture and noted this its first collaboration with the club.

“We are delighted to have been granted the first joint venture license with our partners at Cloakbook to commence sports wagering services within the Cloakroom Gentlemen’s Club and the Over Under Rooftop Lounge, our second small business sportsbook installation in Washington DC.

“Elys firmly believes that this segment of retail sports betting within neighborhood establishments could become a key driver for local employment and economic recovery at the community level throughout the United States and Canada.”

Cloakbook Managing Member Tony Cavasilios took a moment to commented about the benefits the partnership can offer the DC community.

He said: “We are eagerly looking forward to commencing our sportsbook operations within the Cloakroom and all-new Over Under lounge on the rooftop above the club, and to provide a whole new experience to our patrons in DC.

“This new venture has given us the opportunity to create 15 new jobs in D.C. and offer customers a chance to parlay an evening of enjoying a meal and beverage in the Over Under lounge while wagering on their favorite team, and to top it off with a celebration within the award-winning Cloakroom Gentlemen’s Club.”

Elys is an interactive gaming and sports betting technology company. It operates in multiple countries worldwide and currently has operations in six US states.

The company recently signed a sportsbook partnership deal with District Hospitality, with an initial three-year term from the license issuance date, further expanding its presence throughout the East Coast.
