FanDuel has released a single-account betting option through FanDuel Sportsbook, which will allow bettors to place wagers on horseracing and parimutuel events in the same place as traditional bets.
The company said it had a successful recent soft launch and is pleased to release the full version to horseracing and sports betting fans.
Bettors in the states of New York, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, West Virginia, Wyoming, Michigan, Colorado and Virginia now have access to the single account feature.
The North American online gaming company is the first in the US to offer the single account betting feature. FanDuel said the recent innovation is part of its ongoing and strategic efforts to engage younger horseracing fans.
Company CEO Amy Howe spoke about FanDuel’s connection with the sport.
She commented: "Horseracing is a big part of our DNA. This is a significant opportunity to expose a broader, engaged audience to the sport in a familiar environment."
Part of the innovation includes a merge between the sportsbook’s wallet and account features. Prior to the release, customers had to create separate accounts on FanDuel Racing and on TVG.com if they wanted to bet on both sports and horseracing events.
FanDuel recently celebrated the launch its new NBA-centric show, Run it Back, on the company’s cable television network, FanDuel TV. Run it Back airs at 10AM on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays prior to FanDuel TV’s Up and Adams morning show that is hosted by Kay Adams.
The program features and commentary for sports fans and is hosted by former ESPN sportscaster, Michelle Beadle and former NBA star Chandler Parsons. Both programs discuss matchups and big NBA upcoming games.
Horseracing fans can access race coverage through FanDuel TV. Bettors can also place wagers through the streaming service. FanDuel will accept wagers for the Kentucky Derby on its integrated FanDuel Sportsbook platform next year.
This is the first time the sportsbook will offer fans wagering options on the annual horseracing event.
