Not all stockholders received the necessary mailer to vote prior to the meeting.

Elys Game Technology has postponed its annual meeting of shareholders, which was scheduled for earlier today. The company chose to put the meeting on hold due to a problem with proxy statement mailers that went out to shareholders.

Several stockholders received the statement late and were not able to cast votes before the deadline, which fell on November 20. Because some could not vote, the company opted to reschedule the meeting for a later date.

The company said in a statement: “Management has decided that it is in the best interest of the company and its stockholders to reschedule the annual meeting to a new meeting date for a greater level of participation by stockholders, as well as consider changes to the proposals to be put forward at the annual meeting.”

The group has not announced a new meeting date and time yet. The company said its stockholders will receive a revised copy of the proxy statement before the next meeting.

In other news, Elys Gaming Technology and its partner, Wright Bet, recently gained more than 100 host locations in the state of Ohio for the company’s retail sportsbook. The company anticipates its retail sportsbook launch as the state opens for regulated sports wagering.

Ohio is scheduled to introduce legalized sports betting in January 2023, pending regulatory approval. Elys will launch soon after statewide, once the Ohio Casino Control Commission approvals all required licenses.

Elys is an interactive gaming and sports betting technology company. It operates in multiple countries worldwide and currently has operations in six US states.

The company recently signed a sportsbook partnership deal with District Hospitality, with an initial three-year term from the license issuance date, which further expands its presence on the East Coast.
