Playmaker Capital closes acquisition deal for Wedge Traffic

Playmaker Capital has acquired Wedge Traffic Limited in the next step of a strategic US expansion plan. The Canadian company will extend its digital and iGaming footprint throughout the US with expertise from Wedge.
Both companies approached the agreement with a goal to build online sportsbook value for operators and a quality product for iGaming players.
Playmaker CEO Jordan Gnat commented: “We have been very clear that creating a center of excellence in affiliate was key to rounding out our offering as a leading sports media business. We look to super-serve all of our partners, and Wedge allows us to better serve critical customer segments, sports betting and iGaming operators.
“The team at Wedge is superb and we could not be happier having them join our family. Dan, David, Ryan and their team have worked together for years, and they have quickly built relationships within Playmaker over the past few months. This gives us great confidence that we can win together, leveraging the assets and expertise already present in our Playmaker ecosystem.”
Playmaker’s platform is current live in 21 states throughout the US, as well as the District of Columbia and in the Canadian province of Ontario. The company is poised to soon add several more states to the roster, including Ohio, Maine, Maryland and Massachusetts.
Wedge CEO Dan Kersh said: “Outside of the fact that Playmaker’s diverse portfolio of brands will directly complement our business, there were two key reasons for making the decision to join the Playmaker family.
“Firstly, they understand how to support and accelerate data driven marketing within the iGaming sector. Secondly, and perhaps of even greater importance, they appreciate the value of creating a winning culture and how it must be considered the heartbeat of any successful business.”
Playmaker Capital is a digital sports media company with a focus on intersecting betting, sports, technology and media. It is based in Toronto, Ontario.
Playmaker properties has gained more than 106 million followers on social media through various platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Twitch, according to its latest progress report.
