Players will be able to purchase tickets quicker and more efficiently through the new system.

Abacus Solutions International Group has signed a deal with Fujitsu Frontech North America that will integrate its Lottery Everywhere service with Fujitsu’s U-SCAN technology. Fujitsu has offered shoppers self-checkout access through its U-SCAN terminals for more than 20 years.

Abacus Chief Executive Officer Simon Butler expressed excitement about the agreement and noted this will mutually benefit both companies.

He said: “The partnership with Fujitsu and their U-SCAN software allows us to offer retailers the Abacus managed lottery services in a simple and effective way, cutting significant effort and time for retailers and allowing them to realize increased sales and a broader, more integrated way of selling lottery to their customers.”

The company’s lottery service allows retailers and gaming venders to come together with the lottery to offer players streamlined lottery transactions. This also simplifies both the deployment and engagement process.

In addition to self-checkout services, Abacus will launch its lottery app, which will allow retailers to offer any lottery sale during self-checkout.

Fujitsu Frontech North America President and Chief Executive Officer Shuhei Oyake noted the importance of consumers having quick and easy access to self-service lottery services.

Oyake commented: “Fujitsu Frontech North America continues to lead the digital transformation of retail technology by offering our customers simplified self-service options designed to be used in any store environment.

“Through our partnership with Abacus, we are excited to be able to offer our retail customers a quick and simple way to introduce lottery, everywhere. This powerful tool will provide retail customers with the self-service options they want, while helping retailers increase revenue.”
