The facility is set to open in late October.

Pennsylvania operator betPARX has signed a multi-year strategic partnership deal with Greenmount OTB. Under the terms of the agreement, betPARX will have direct access to Maryland’s sports betting market.

The company will be able to offer its sports betting products through a retail location within Greenmount OTB, pending final approval from the Maryland State Lottery and Gaming Control Agency.

The retail location is scheduled to open later this month under the brand name betPARX Sportsbook. Players will be able to place live bets, through touchscreen kiosks or at in-person teller windows.

Currently, Greenmount OTB holds approvals from the Lottery and Maryland Lottery and Sports Wagering Application Review Commission (SWARC).

SVP of iGaming & Sports, Matthew Cullen, commented: "betPARX is excited to embark on this exciting venture with an energetic partner that has a vision for the future.

"We are working to expand our portfolio of offerings to give our customers the best of all types of legalized mobile Sports betting and iGaming in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio and Michigan and we can’t wait to bring our brand of excitement to my home state of Maryland.”

Greenmount OTB first opened in 2018 and is a part of Hampstead, Maryland’s Greenmount Station Restaurant. The location functions as a licensed horseracing satellite simulcast facility throughout Maryland’s Carroll County.

District 5 State Delegate April R. Rose commented: “Our entire delegation is proud of the well-paying jobs and economic investment this new business will bring to our local community. This looks to be a home run for all of Carroll County and the region.”

Rose was a key player in organizing the deal through the General Assembly and Ways and Means Committee.
