New Jersey announces total revenue of $274m in August

Casino revenue equalled a growth of 4.4% compared to $262.4m for the same month last year.

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement revealed the August 2022 total casino gaming revenue results for nine casinos in the state, totaling $274m, a 4.4% growth from August 2021.

The year-to-date total of $1.88bn for the nine casinos reflected a growth of 14.1% over $1.65bn for the prior period.

Internet or mobile gaming also saw an increase for the month of August, coming in at $131.4m, a growth of 16.1% compared to $113.2m for the same time last year. 

Year-to-date numbers for internet gaming were $1.08bn, which is a 25% growth over $866.1m over the last period.

Gross revenue from sports wagers reported by casinos, racetracks, and the casino's partners was $65.3m for August 2022, representing a 25.5% increase when compared to $52.0m in August 2021.

Sports wagering year-to-date revenue was reported as $418.9m, an 11% decline from $475.3m in August of last year. 

In total, gaming revenue reported by casinos, racetracks, and their partners was $470.7m for August 2022. Compared to August 2021, this represents a growth of 10.1% from $427.7m.

For year-to-date, total gaming revenue reported by casinos, racetracks, and their partners was $3.38bn reflecting a 13.2% increase from $2.99bn reported in the prior period.

New Jersey Casino Control Commission Chairman James Plousis said: "It has been a great summer for Atlantic City and the region. 

"The recent efforts to create impressive in-person experiences will continue to provide positive momentum going into the fall."
