This is part of a company strategy to expand its global footprint.

Sportsbook operator Pinnacle has gained its first North American license. The company’s internet gaming operator registration has been approved in the Canadian province of Ontario by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

Gaining a license in Ontario opens the door for the company and offers its customers esports and sports betting content on a larger scale.

Pinnacle said in a statement: “Registration in Ontario will allow the operator to provide customers with its market-leading sports betting and esports content, with bettors serviced by its low margins to level the betting playing field and deliver more value on each bet.”

Ontario players will have access to Pinnacle’s portfolio of content tailored specifically for the North American commercial market. Bettors can choose a variety of sporting events, including baseball, tennis, basketball and soccer, as well as from NFL and CFL games.

Pinnacle CEO Paris Smith said: “Ontario’s sports fans and bettors deserve the best betting opportunities, and we’re excited to now service them with just that with the recent approval of our registration from the AGCO.

“There’s a robust, fair regulatory regime in place, along with a knowledgeable sports and betting audience, and we’re excited to be able to take our ‘Winners Welcome’ mantra to the market and take Ontarian betting to the next level.”

The company will soon launch its Pinnacle.ca site. Pinnacle Solution, a company subsidiary has received approval for its Gaming-Related Supplier registration. The approval will give it the green light to service sportsbooks within the province by offering risk management and trading products.

Pinnacle also holds licenses in in Malta, Sweden and Italy.
