It was awarded this distinction by 10Best.com’s readership.

Mohegan Sun has finished first in the ‘Best Casino Hotel’ category, making it the fifth year in a row the franchise has won this award from 10Best.com. It also notched top five rankings in both the ‘Best Casino Outside of Vegas’ and the ‘Best Player’s Club’ categories.

Voting for the 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards took place after nominees were chosen by a panel of experts, composed of editors from USA Today, 10Best.com and other relevant contributors. Voting took place over four weeks this summer through 10Best.com, which averages 5 million visitors per month.

The Connecticut-based Mohegan Sun boasts a ‘sky tower’, which is 34 stories high and aims for luxury, with a minimum 450 square-feet size for each room. Rooms include a working desk area with an ergonomic chair, marble bathrooms, video in-room dining menus, ordering with bill review and check-out accessibility.

It combines with the ‘earth tower’ which has more of a focus on a tribal aesthetic: its 12 stories of guestrooms face into the Trading Cove, an ancestral waterfront station for the Mohegan Tribe. The two towers combine for nearly 1,600 appointed guest rooms and over 200 suites.

Other amenities include Mohegan Sun's signature Mandara Spa, 300,000 square feet of gaming space, 130,000 square feet of retail shopping experience, family entertainment facilities and a concert venue.

Additionally, Mohegan Sun's parent company, Mohegan, was recognized as part of the Forbes annual America's Best-In-State Employers List 2022.

10Best.com Reader’s Choice Awards focus on well-known casinos and resorts throughout the US. It uses local travel experts: a well-traveled and educated group who live in the cities they write about.
